If you know anything about a good wine it doesn’t have to cost an ARM and a LEG or be vintage to be tasty.
In addition to the myth that twist top wines are “poor or bad” in taste, bogus. Here is a Rose’ to try This blend of Sangiovese and Syrah is very dry, medium-bodied rose’ with attractive notes of raspberry and red currants.
This Napa Valley find is another great one, 2008 Lail Vineyards Blueprint Cabernet Sauvignon. A lush supple red with notes of currants and black cherry and fairly soft tannins.
When you are looking for something a bit on the crisp and refreshing side, try this 2010 Domaine Champalou Vouvray. This is a soft, slightly fruity, easy-to- enjoy sparkling wine.
Well enough reading between the wines with me, I now need a glass in my hand!
Although, Chardonnay is not my favorite, I had to include at least one 2009 Chateau Montelena Napa Valley Chardonnay . This is crisp and almost steely white – from an estate best known for Cabernet. It is a refreshing exception to the chardonnay’s cliche’ of “buttery” taste.
Wine me up….
